Current Music Projects

Right now I am preparing music for the Holidays. One of them is an arrangement of an Aria from Bach’s Christmas Oratorio. Yes its a bit obscure, but it was music written during the Holiday Season in the 18th century. Plus, I love Bach’s music.

I am arranging this particular piece as a duet for my brother and myself. He will play Clarinet, and I will play Recorder. The actual piece has an Alto vocal part, but since there are no singers in my family, except me, then there will be no singing with this piece.

For even further music geek information, I am putting this together in Musescore, a wonderful piece of music notation software which is FREE! When I am finished, I will post a pdf of the piece right here.

The rest of the pieces will be Holiday tunes we all know and love.

Guitar Workshop with Phillip Sayce

Last Saturday I met guitarist Phillip Sayce at Musician’s Institute. He was a very down to earth guy and had some great licks on guitar. He has performed with the Jeff Healey band and Melissa Etheridge amongst others. The workshop was very inspiring and he brought Jeff Healey to my attention.

Wow, if you ever want to see an amazing blues performance, look up Jeff Healey. That guy has some amazing licks. And dare I say it, he could definitely school Stevie Ray Vaughn.
